One more thing....

“Research shows us that children, who know the names and shapes of letters when formal reading instruction begins, are more likely to experience success in learning to read than children who have had little experience with the alphabet. Children must become familiar with the symbols that are used in print; they must understand the special code that is used in their written language.” - A. Bishop, R.H. Yopp, H.K. Yopp, 2000, Ready for Reading: A Handbook

It's February!

February has come in so cold!! Luckily we have had a lot of fun inside over the past week...

Patterns, patterns, patterns! We can make patterns with all kinds of things.

All kinds of wild animals on the loose!
How many people can we stick in a tent?

The bears have come to visit with Goldilocks and the Three Bears! We listened to 3 different versions, used the computer to draw the setting and can easily identify the main characters! We are story superstars...

We have been building all kinds of things... houses, vet clinics, rockets out of playdough and flannel board scenes from Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Sometimes the cat needs to go shopping for groceries!

Working on our letter recognition and keyboarding skills!
Crafting and drawing all kinds of shapes....
Race track fun... we added jumps and bridges and practiced taking turns!

 Following directions... we are awesome!
Mr. Bubbly and Bubba have been watching for SUPER KIDS all week! There have been 8 super kids caught doing great things! Way to go Kindergarten!

Don't forget Valentine's Day on Thursday. We will celebrate a day early because it is a PD day on the 14th! Can't wait to see everyone on Monday!
