What did we do....

This last week week we introduced new learning centers in the morning focusing on both numeracy and literacy. We continued exploring patterns with 2 or 3 elements, playing math games, reviewing letters and sounds, reading with a partner and much more.
G was thinking about a strategy to solve the math problem. She drew pictures to figure out how many snowmen were playing tag.

Working together to order the penguins from 10-1. This was great for cooperation work.

Look at the stretching out of sounds in this picture! Students are starting to label their work:)

Finding matching letter and beginning sound pictures.

Patterning with beads.

Subitizing and practicing number formation.

Working on counting order, counting the correct amount and showing the correct amount to 18.

Reading with friends.

Exploring PBSkids.org, another safe site for students.

We had so much fun playing outside in the warm weather! A lot of snowhills to slide down and chunks of snow to bring in the class.

Cleaning up the kitchen.

The students love the playdough. Each day cookies, muffins, cakes, snowmen, snakes, flowers and much more are built here.

Free craft time.... that is a lily in her flower vase.

Making alphabet soup!

B was building something inside of something inside of the box!

L is one of the best cleaners in the class!

J found patterns on his shirt.

Exploring snow and water color!

I made you a lamb Mrs. E so you will remember me!

Taking selfies with the Ipod. The students have the opportunity to document their work during classroom center time. J was the first student to use it to document the class and what his friends were up to!

The flag...

Some building with clicks...

We have patterns....

Friend pictures....

Kids love selfies, too!

T working on math.

T made this for her puppy from free craft.

Hope all the Kinder kids and their families enjoyed the great weather this weekend.

Don't forget library is tomorrow and it is crunch day on Thursday. Bring a crunchy, healthy treat to take down to the assembly.

See you in the morning...

The K team.
