Christmas Concert...

Just a few pictures from the concert. Thank you so much for coming to the concert and sharing in the joy of Christmas. The students did such a great job of their songs! We hope you enjoyed the performance.

Merry Christmas to all of you from the Kindergarten Team.
See you back on Monday, January 6th!

Lovey Elfer is proud of us!

Lovey Elfer has been busy! Look at all the places we found him. He was so excited to tell us each morning what a fantastic job we were doing at singing our Christmas concert songs.

We found him in the kitchen and he left us a book to read and an experiment to do with a gingerbread man. First, we predicted what would happen if we put the gingerbread man in water. (we learned through the gingerbread stories that gingerbread men don't like to get wet!) Then we put him in some water...
And this is what he looked like in 20 minutes! Just as we thought. He fell apart, got soggy and lost his icing! We left him in there overnight and this is what he looked like in the morning.
We found Lovey Elfer relaxing with his rubber ducky in a tub of marshmallows! Whew, he was tired out from all his work. He also left us a box of popcorn to enjoy with our Curious George Christmas show. It was a nice popcorn and pajama day!
See you tonight at the Christmas concert! Please be in the classroom by 6:15. Show starts at 6:30. Our spot on the risers is the first set when you walk in the gym doors!

Lovey Elfer.... where is he?

Lovey Elfer is having so much fun in our class. Each night, when he returns to the North Pole, he has reported to Santa about how good we are doing! He is also leaving us all kinds of fun....

Lovey Elfer left us some magic seeds to plant in the magic snow. He said overnight something would grow...

And something sure did grow! Wow. Thank you so much Lovey Elfer. Look where we found Lovey Elfer! He drove the bus back and got stuck in some Christmas decorations!

Can't wait to see everyone on Christmas concert night! Thursday at 6:30! It is going to be fantastic.
Tomorrow is another outside day... looks like it might be a bit colder! Dress warm:)
See you in the morning!

Lovey Elfer has come to town!

Our Elf on the Shelf, Lovey Elfer, is having so much fun watching us! Today we decided we definitely will be on the nice list! It was a fantastic week in Kindergarten....
Making a ladder to help Lovey Elfer down....

Lovey Elfer was hungy and sleepy after coming back from the North Pole... he found some Smarties. We thought maybe he stopped at a gas station for them. :)

Decorating the tree...

 Having fun with the cars.

Always nice to cuddle up with a good book!

Making paper chain patterns... we had to really concentrate to make sure our pattern repeated 3 times!

We decorated cookies on Friday... because what is Christmas without cookies!

A lot of Christmas card and craft making has been happening. I hope you enjoy the glitter and sparkles!

The students have been busy making playdough Christmas cookies, too!

We had a good red and green day to end the week! The students are practicing hard to learn their Christmas concert songs and each day we have been enjoying Christmas stories! They are so quick to pick out the main character and setting! Awesome work Kinder Kids!

Have a fantastic weekend, see you on Monday....

At the lab...

On Monday we headed to the computer lab. We worked on a Christmas tree project. The students had to open the link, paint the tree and add the decorations. They did a great job listening to directions. Below is the finished projects:) As well, we have been exploring safe websites. At EJSM we call these green websites. Some of the ones we have visited are; Starfall, PBS kids and ABCYA.

I hope all your Christmas preparations are going well!

We have been singing, singing, singing our Christmas concert songs! The students are doing amazing.
As well, a new visitor is in the classroom - a Santa's elf has come to keep an eye on us at school. His name is Lovey Elfer and he reports back to Santa each night and then comes flying back to our classroom. Each morning the students have to find Lovey Elfer and sometimes he has a treat if we have been very good!
Thank you for sending warm clothes each day for outside. If the windchill is below minus 20, we will not be heading outside. (like today)
See you in the morning!
