Hot Dog Party!!! without a Pigeon:)

It was a fun and busy hot dog party day! We started the day out with our observations about what happened to the jellybeans. We found out that the jellybeans lose color, get squashy and that the white stuff floating on top is the coating from the jelly bean!

Next science experiment.... what will happen if we leave Peeps in Sprite and water over the Easter Weekend?
Predictions: They will lose color, get big, their eyes will come off, they will get smooshy, squashy, mushy, the sugar will come off, turn brown and crack. What great predictions.... stay tuned for the conclusion!

Thank you to Sienna and her mom for the Peeps to eat and bird nests!

The hot dog party was delicious! Thank you for all the wonderful food:)

Luckily the pigeon didn't show up and eat our hot dogs!!

We also made predictions about our magic Easter pill animals... what would pop out of the capsule?

We read our very own Pigeon book that we wrote! We are funny writers.

Happy Easter from all of us to all of you!
See you on Tuesday....The K team.

The Pigeon invades Kindergarten!!

Well, we have had a couple of very busy weeks. We have been talking about Mo Willem's and his very funny books. The students have figured out reasons that author's write and have been amazing listeners to all the stories we have read. We have been able to compare the pigeon character to other good/bad characters we have read about. Some of the comments from the students about the pigeon; "He is a good and bad character. He has the good in him and then the bad sneaks in.", "He just has bad manners.", "He reminds me of Goldilocks.", " I think he wants to be good, but then he just wants too many stuffs." I am loving the discussions we are having in class. They are showing me everyday what great thinkers they are!

Counting groups to 10. Everyone has met this goal!

Working together with our friends!

Building unifix all the way across our classroom!

Building with the Knex! All kinds of creatures....

We are so creative with playdough!

Working on the Playmobil Fire Station... it took us 4 center times to get it finished. Now we need a fire truck!

At the vet center! Helping all the sick animals!

Morning work time... pattern puzzles and books!

Counting tallies to 20!

Authors sometimes need to label objects so reader's can get information! They did an awesome job labeling the elephants!

Measuring for our elephant trunks! How many feet long are  you?

We talked about speech bubbles. Mo Willem's uses them a lot in his writing. The Kinder kids wrote their own story about what they would want!

Our finished pigeons! Great direction following!

Making walls to hide behind!

The Easter bunny came to hide some eggs!

Waiting patiently for the eggs to be hidden!

Finding eggs! I think we might find some super hidden ones in June!

The great Jellybean sort and pattern! We are super sorters!

And lastly... we wondered what would happen to the jellybeans if we left them in water overnight! These are our predictions.... stay tuned for the outcome!

Looking forward to the hot dog party tomorrow! Thank you for helping us make it a success! The pigeon really LOVES his hotdogs!!

Happy Easter to everyone. Have a safe and fun holiday weekend!

From the Kinder team... See you in the morning!
